Chris Allen

Director of Digital Content Development, BBC

Chris Allen is Director of Content Development at BBC Studios Social.

Chris leads on original digital programme development and commissioning.  

Since joining BBC Studios in 2012, he has focussed on nurturing new talent, both on-and off-screen.  Chris has produced award-winning content for almost every major BBC Studios brand and commissioned successful digital-first formats including Doctor Who: The Fan Show, Bugface, and Hack Attack.

He has worked in digital content for almost 20 years, as a creator, a producer, and a commissioner. Before joining BBC Studios, Chris spent four years at Digital Spy, setting up their video and image production studio and taking the business from start-up to publisher ownership. He has also managed creative content studios for an online recruiter and a professional qualifications body.
